I love the challenge of capturing an experience, a person, a feeling as a singular still image. For me, cropping this moment out of its context creates a new experience conveying the content on a more personal level, allowing the viewer to insert it into their own context, or even to construct an entirely new and unique context around the image.
It was the work of a close friend that inspired me to become more serious about my photography, circa 2005. Since then I've found great joy living behind the lens. This portfolio is a means to share some of my favorite photos, and to foster continued motivation to keep shooting.
I live on a small dairy farm in upstate NY with my wife, baby daughter, dogs, cat, chickens, and goats. I work as a professional game developer by day and always seem to find myself short on time.
I currently do most of my shooting with a Nikon D90.
